I am so thankful to be the Lord's servant and that He has counted me worthy to serve Him. I was saved in 1968 and immediately began to serve the Lord. I was involved in teaching a Sunday School class, served as a deacon, directed the teen department and then became an Associate Pastor. I was ordained in 1978 and began preaching at Bethel
I am so thankful to be the Lord's servant and that He has counted me worthy to serve Him. I was saved in 1968 and immediately began to serve the Lord. I was involved in teaching a Sunday School class, served as a deacon, directed the teen department and then became an Associate Pastor. I was ordained in 1978 and began preaching at Bethel Baptist Church in Amherst, Virginia where I stayed for thirty years. In 2012, I resigned and worked for Beams Missionary for five years. In September 2017, I became the Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Tyro, Virginia. I count this as my greatest joy!
Each step of my journey has been exciting and I count it a privilege that the Lord would allow me to serve Him. The song writer said it best - "Sweeter gets the journey every day". I have found the Lord's mercies and blessings are new each day and I am thankful that the Lord has allowed me to be a part of this good church. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come and worship with us, as we attempt to do what the Lord commands.

I've been playing music since I was 12 years old. I play piano, harmonica, guitar, banjo and about anything with strings. I played with Bethel Echoes, a gospel band from Bethel Baptist Church for over 30 years. Also, my family band, "The Peter's Family", consisting of my wife, Carolyn, and children Ben and Holly. Throughout

I played with Bethel Echoes, a gospel band from Bethel Baptist Church for over 30 years. Also, my family band, "The Peter's Family", consisting of my wife, Carolyn, and children Ben and Holly. Throughout the years, we traveled together and performed at many different churches. Now that the kids are grown we still get together and play whenever we can. I currently play in my bluegrass/gospel band, "Buffalo Ridge".
I love playing many styles of music, but my favorite has always been bluegrass gospel and my main instrument in banjo. I love playing at Cornerstone Baptist where I play bass guitar, piano and sing specials with my daughter, Holly.
